What started out as a wonderful friendship has, over a good, long time, become a once-in-a-lifetime love...
Everyone assumes that Deb & Brian met cycling - and that's partly true...
It all began during the 2002 Planet Ultra Solvang Double Century. Deb was working, and Brian was, well, riding - at least for the first 80 or so miles. Then he was crashing. Brian crashed hard enough to break his bike and to bang himself up pretty good. So, as fate would have it, he wound up stuck in Deb's "SAG wagon" - where he spent the better part of the rest of day. It was there, and on many, many double centuries that followed over the next two years, that a beautiful friendship was born.

During the two plus years that Deb & Brian were getting to know one another as very good friends, they saw each other quite a lot at Planet Ultra events, where Brian rode, and Deb worked. Brian often hung out at the finish line and kept Deb company. Sometimes he was particularly nice and brought dinner! Being the great guy that he is, Brian always gives back to the sport, and particularly to Planet Ultra. In 2003, Brian got Deb through the Solvang staff ride when she totally bonked and started crying and said she didn't want to ride anymore. Brian made her eat, pat her on the head, refused to let her get in the van, and made her keep riding. Later, (much later,) Deb was grateful for that. A couple months after that, Brian helped Deb get through the Mulholland Double too. They rode it together, pretty much unsupported. Brian, the knight-in-shining-armour that he is, let Deb draft most of the day, and he carried her lights until it was dark enough to use them. They finished really late - and Brian was a super good sport about that.
In 2004, Brian and Deb's friendship grew even stronger when they each relied on the other when times were sort of tough. During that time, they really became the very best of friends. Then summer came. And with every summer comes the L.A. Wheelmen Grand Tour Double Century. Brian came up to Deb's two day's before the Grand Tour. (He had a court appearance in Santa Monica the day before the ride. And the ride starts right near Deb's house - so they decided to spend some extra time together that weekend.) Something must've been in the air during those few days... Feelings were professed, hands held, hearts opened. And then, the perfect kiss. And from that moment on, the two become ONE. And now, they're inseparable. So it's time to make it legal...
