PLANET ULTRA
CLUB CHRISTMAS CENTURY
Saturday, December 5, 2009

This ride is a semi-supported, social "Club Ride" with one leapfrog support vehicle providing water and snacks at
two locations along the course (with specific closing times). Our driver will not have a car equipped to carry bikes. Riders are expected to be self-sufficient. There will be no SAG vehicle. If you can't finish the ride, you'll have to find your own way back!

This time of year the sun goes down around 5pm. That means you'll have to ride 100 miles with about 5,800'
of climbing in under 9 hours. Since there's no SAG, please consider the time constraints before taking this on!

Meet at 7:30am and start the ride at 8:00am!

Please RSVP:
RSVPs will be accepted from November 1 through December 2. During that time, please click here to let us know you'll be attending. Then click here for the entry form/waiver. Fill it in, print it out and bring it with you to rider check-in.

The Basic Route:
Starting in Calabasas, we'll ride through Agoura, Hidden Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Malibu and back. For those of you who know the area, the main climbs are Potrero, Encinal and rollers on Mulholland. 100 miles with about 5,800 feet of climbing! Click here for the route sheet. Be sure to print it out and bring it with you, as the course will not be marked.

What to bring:
$20 cash to cover the cost of snacks, water and gas for our friendly driver PLUS either a minimum $20 donation to Challenged Athletes Foundation*, or a minimum $20 donation to Breast Cancer Network of Strength**. If you have any punctured tubes that you know you won't patch, please bring those too!

*If you'd like to make your donation to Challenged Athletes Foundation via credit card, click here. Bring your receipt to rider check-in.
** If you'd like to make your donation to Breast Cancer Network of Strength via credit card, click here. Bring your receipt to rider check-in.

What else bring: A friend, your bikes, bike repair stuff, a good supply of food and drink, money and smiles.

Start location:
The Corner Bakery at "The Commons"  - 4776 Commons Way, Calabasas, CA 91302. We'll gather in the parking lot and roll from there. For those who can stay and hang out, we'll eat at the Corner Bakery when we're done riding!

Directions:
101 Freeway to Parkway Calabasas exit. Head South on Calabasas Road. Hang a right at the light at Park Grenada and then turn right into the parking lot. Please park in the back of the lot, away from the main shopping area.
