The 2008 Eastern Sierra Double Century was another beautiful day of riding with spectacular scenery in and around Bishop, Crowley Lake, Mammoth Lakes, June Lake, Mono Lake and more!

The morning started out a bit cold and a lot windy - but conditions all day long were absolutely perfect with blue skies and cool temperatures - just right for this wonderful climbing ride! To top off an already incredible day, riders were treated to a smokin'  taliwind which blasted them back to the finish in record times! Riders reported cruising home on Highway 6 between 35 and 40 miles per hour, without pedaling!!!

An enthusiastic round of applause for our fastest rider of 2008, Jerrold Oser, who took the early lead and never looked back. His half-hour lead is very impressive, indeed... especially considering that this was Jerrold's very first double century! Wow!

Congratulations to the following seven riders who completed their Planet Ultra Grand Slam at Eastern Sierra: Mel Cutler, Kitty Goursolle, Dave Holdeman, John Hopkins, John A. Long, Tom Milton,  and Ric Schrank.

Our hats off to Craig Wilson who rode Eastern Sierra as his 50th lifetime double century! We're honored that Craig chose a Planet Ultra event to reach this milestone. Craig will be inducted into the California Triple Crown Hall of Fame in September! Congratulations!!!

Kudos to Pat Huber, Zane Marshall, Jerrold Oser and P. Scott Turner who rode Eastern Sierra as their first double century! Great job! (There may have been others, but these folks let us know.)
