Heartbreak 2008 was not its usual HOT self...  44 double century riders and 250 century riders were challenged not only by the hills, but by atypical winter-like weather with lows in the 40s and highs in the mid-50s. Those appropriately dressed said it was perfect climbing weather -- and that they enjoyed some of the most scenic, quiet and beautiful roads in Southern California. Epic steep and prolonged climbs, breathtaking views, quiet roads, and long, rewarding descents, are what makes this course one of the best in California.

Congratulations to the following eight riders who earned their Planet Ultra Grand Slam, and received the 2008 special edition Grand Slam coffee mug, by completing the Heartbreak Double Century: Becky Berka, Jeff Dewey, Peter Glenn, Christopher Hanson, Rick Jacobson, Albert Kong, Josh Talley and Mike Warren.
