Way to go Michael Grosso who tackled Mulholland as his very first double century!!!

Totally unsolicited, but very much appreciated, rider feedback:

"What a great course! Beautiful, challenging and gratifying upon completion! When I mention to friends that I am doing a double century they usually ask how long does that take? Any where from 12 to 18 hours, maybe more, depending on the course and if I have been able to get some mileage in. The response is usually why would you want to do something like that? What could be worth being on a bike for that length of time?

Well on this day, for me, it was of course the satisfaction you get when you meet a goal which in this case was simply to finish! But I had the extra bonus of riding with Charles Griffice from checkpoint #1 to the finish. I believe it was his 99th D.C.! Even though I know he wasn't feeling well when I flatted at mile 195 he returned to help me with my flat. I want to thank Brian Bowling for helping with my flat also, as well as Planet Ultra and the volunteers for all that they do to make it all possible.

I will be back next year, hopefully a little faster!" -Brian Kingman, Fontana, CA

"Thanks for a fantastic ride!  Great weather, except for the pesky, inescapable headwind on the north PCH part, great food, and great service.  This was the toughest Double Century I've completed and that includes Devil Mountain and Terrible Two.  In fact, with the addition of the Decker route, this ride probably has more climbing than the Terrible Two.  Please consider keeping this part.  I think most people will agree the challenge is worth it.  Now Southern California has a Double Century that can compete with Devil Mountain and Terrible Two.  Thanks again and I'll see you all at Heartbreak."
-William Murphy, Long Beach, CA

"I want to thank you guys for another great event! Despite the difficulty of the Decker climb, I liked it! It reminded me of the climbs on the Terrible Two. Having the CP in the middle of the climb was great. We were able to suffer a while, get some nutrition, then suffer some more. What could be better? In all seriousness, Thank You!!! Thanks also to all the volunteers out there. They are greatly appreciated. ... For the record, my altimeter recorded 16,500' of climbing. Yowza!" -Mike Sturgill, Phoenix, AZ

"Thanks for a great event you two! Perfect course. You shouldn't change a thing. Again. The shorter, steeper, and less traveled Decker gets you back into the groove. What a day! I'll be back. Love what you do." - Eric Wilson, Palmdale, CA

Attention riders who, at the event, wrote a check to Planet Ultra for either the entry fee or for retail products: Our van was vandalized late Saturday night and our office box with all the checks was stolen. Please stop payment on your check. We'd appreciate if you'll re-issue your check to Planet Ultra, minus the cost of the stop payment. Thank you.
