Hats off to Dave Holdeman who crashed on Drum Canyon when his stem bolt snapped and his handlebars broke free of the stem. Dave got SAG'd back to the finish, borrowed the bike of his Bull Shifters clubmate Doug Erwin (who'd already finished), was driven back up Drum Canyon to where he'd crashed, and rode the last miles back in for an official finish! Way to dig deep, Dave!!!

"I just wanted to thank everyone at Planet Ultra for an AWESOME day! The route was a perfect blend of wonderfully isolated little roads and small towns. The check points were really well stocked, and close enough together that riders didn't have to worry about hydration/nutrition at all. The navigation was made easy by your excellent route sheet and just the right amount of markers in just the right places. This was my first double century, and with a time of 11:47, my only regret it that I didn't start with the 7:30am group!
