Our group has grown yet more with the arrival of a quartet from the Bull-shifters cycling club in Arizona. Today was crystal clear blue sky all day, though often head-windy. We worked together and had another fabulous day on the bike. Today's sojourn took us to nearly unknown Jalama Beach, over on the coast at the end of a fourteen mile long deadend road. Mike Moseley, with his broken collarbone, and his wife Rhonda arrived via van and hung out with us a while. We enjoyed a nice respite at Jalama Beach, checking out the funky little store / café, then headed back towards Solvang. En route we climbed Gaviota Pass, then took Alisal Road to Nojoqui Falls Park. There, Chris's Mother, Shelby Kostman, brought a home-made meal of chicken, veggie dogs, beans, salad, fresh-from-the-oven cookies and more. It was deeeelicious! Thanks, Mom, and thanks to Deb Caplan for helping get it all organized. It was a great ride and day together on the road. Tomorrow we wrap it up with a little cool-down cruise around the east end of the valley and then breakfast in Los Olivos. It's been a wonderful week! (As this is uploading, we're all watching "Breaking Away" on video. This group loves to be together!)
