The 2009 Tour of Two Forests was intended to be held "brevet-style;" but with such a small group, two vehicles provided leap-frog SAG support for all the riders, who received very personal service throughout the beautiful day. Cool temperatures and beautiful blue skies made it a perfect day for cycling.

It's a shame that there isn't more interest in this spectacular route which meanders in and out of the Los Padres National Forest on remote, quiet roads for miles and miles of cycling solitude. As a result of low attendance, ToTF will most likely be held every other year. So stay tuned for the 2011 event, which will likely take place in the Spring again. Everyone agreed that the first Saturday of May was much better than the traditional last weekend of September (when it's typically brutally hot on the 30-mile climb up Pine Mountain and the 9-mile climb up Heartbreak). So we'll likely stick with the early May date for 2011.
